With so many people being home and working remote becoming more of a norm, having a place to decompress in your house has become so important. In the past we had Surround Sound for TV and movies and Stereo for Music. Today the line is becoming a bit less defined. We can now create a multi-use space that will give you the same type of experience in either case.
What does the immersive home cinema look like?
The modern home theater includes a Large Format Video Display which can be either a large TV (OLED or QLED) through Samsung, SONY, or LG, or a front projection system with a screen and projector. We use top-of-the-line Screen Innovations and Stewart FilmScreens to provide the best experiences with the Screens and SONY, JVC, and Epson Projectors. The larger the display, the more immersive the effect on the video side. With high resolution now being the norm, you can sit much closer than ever before and really feel like you are part of the action. On the Audio side, the most common format is Dolby Atmos which includes 5-7 surround speakers, 1-4 subwoofers and 2-4 Atmos speakers which are installed in the ceiling above the listening position. This provides a system that not only surrounds you but immerses you using height channels.
What can I do with it?
Content is king. I remember selling TVs at Best Buy when 1080p was just coming out. Every client had a similar question, “what content is there?” Back then with traditional viewing and physical media, content was extremely limited. Today, advances in video and audio technology can be adopted almost immediately with streaming services like Netflix, Apple, Amazon, Spotify, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, and individual channels like HBO, Stars, the CW, ESPN and more. Live sports, major movies and TV shows are releasing with Immersive Audio (soundtracks) and new services like NUGS.net are now streaming live concerts with Immersive Audio. Gaming through your PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC is also an amazing use of this immersive experience.
